Houston Ophthalmologist

Dr. Ravi K. Chundru is a native Houstonian born in 1970. Wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps as an engineer, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas in Austin. After a short stint in the “real world”, he decided to pursue medicine and completed his medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center in the Texas Medical Center in 1997. Dr. Chundru continued with the Longhorn spirit and finished his Ophthalmology training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He immediately returned to H-Town and has been in private practice for over 20 years. Dr. Chundru currently practices in two locations with Greater Houston Eye Consultants.

Dr. Chundru is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and practices comprehensive ophthalmology and performs cataract surgery, new technology adult lens implants (i.e. Multifocal, Toric), and eyelid surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Harris County Medical Society, and past board member of the Houston Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Chundru enjoys playing pickleball, racquetball, and hi-tech toys.

Dr. Chundru follows the wisdom, to whom much is given, much will be required.  Dr. Chundru and his family believe in giving back to the community and is very involved in hands-on charitable eye care.  He currently runs non-profit eye clinics at the Healthcare for the Homeless and the Indian Doctors Charity Clinic.

Dr. Chundru loves meeting new people and enjoys his time with his established clients.  He looks forward to meeting you and helping you see the world better!
